I’m Dennis Vernooij, an illustrator and graphic designer based in Amsterdam, with over 25 years of experience and a passion for vintage Art Deco design and illustration.
I began my career in gift design and transitioned into the advertising industry nearly 15 years ago. Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of creating artwork for a wide range of clients such as Coca-Cola, Heineken, Heinz, Levi’s, Amazon Prime, Martini, Lay's, Orangina, L’OR, Philips, and many more. Today, I specialize in crafting original, vintage-inspired visuals—drawing primarily, though not exclusively, from the distinctive design styles of the 1920s and 1930s.
My work is deeply research-driven, rooted in legacy, and tailored for brands that value originality, craftsmanship, and heritage. I collaborate with publishers, the film industry, and heritage and luxury brands, creating everything from campaign visuals and packaging to poster art and book covers. I bring period-specific style and storytelling to life with authenticity, creativity, and precision, always maintaining clarity to effectively communicate your message.

I work with:
• Heritage brands that want to highlight their legacy and build trust by showcasing their rich history.
• Brands celebrating milestone anniversaries, looking to highlight their heritage and craftsmanship.
• The film industry, creating period-specific prop designs, packaging, and posters that reflect design styles from the first half of the 20th century.
• Luxury brands who value craftsmanship and (their) design history.
• Publishers producing novels written in—or set during—the early 20th century—such as classic crime, literary fiction, or historical works.
Heritage creates trust, and trust drives loyalty.
